Approach

The redesign process was guided by a user-centric philosophy, emphasizing collaboration and feedback from employees across various departments. Initial research identified key pain points, leading to targeted enhancements to the Intranet’s design and functionality. The header navigation was completely overhauled to create clearer pathways to critical information, particularly around policies and support documents. The introduction of an A-Z feature expedited content discovery, while the refined Hubs feature provided timely updates for users.

Additionally, a bookmarking capability was implemented, allowing employees to save frequently visited pages for easy access. The main navigation was restructured, merging the "Our People" and "Our Business" sections into a unified "Our Company" area. Throughout development, rigorous testing ensured that accessibility standards were met, making the Intranet more inclusive for all employees.

Results

The redesign led to a notable enhancement in user experience, empowering employees with better access to information and improved communication.

  • Improved User Experience: Navigation enhancements and centralized resources significantly uplifted the employee experience.

  • Efficient Content Retrieval: The A-Z feature and refined Hubs increased efficiency, allowing for quicker access to relevant information.

  • Enhanced Accessibility Convenience: The addition of bookmarking and intuitive navigation made accessing frequently used pages effortless.

Overall, the revamped Intranet site not only transformed functionality but also fostered a more engaged and informed workforce.
